Welcome to the First-Year Parents Blog for the Class of 2018!

I hope you all enjoyed your Parent Orientation experience, and are prepared to get your student ready to "take the plunge" on August 30th.  Thank you for your participation in the video that the Dean and I created to show to your students during Black & Gold Beginnings.  I am sure that they will be ecstatic to see your smiling faces on the big screen.

This space will be used to update you on aspects of your students experience at FSU. Your first order of business is to have a discussion with your student about what you both learned and experienced while you were at the University in the past two weeks. Together, you should take a look at the materials that each of you received and make sure all necessary paperwork has been submitted or is in process so that there are no delays in terms of health forms, housing applications, etc.

Your student will receive an email to their student email account (all official University business will be sent to this account) on July 2, 2014, informing them that the tuition bill for Fall 2014 is now available on myFramingham. It is important that you both look it over and make sure that all financial aid has been applied. If you have a question about your bill in general you can call Student Accounts at 508.626.4514; if there is a problem with a schloarship, grant, or loan being applied to your bill you should contact Financial Aid at 508.626.4537. It is important that you pay your bill by the due date. Failure to pay by that time may result in a loss of housing and classes for the fall semester.

Feel free to use the blog to ask general questions and have a conversation with each other through the comments section.
